The Secret Farmer is an online farmers market which will provide marketing, distribution and ecommerce services to farmers, enabling them to sell direct to consumers. By using Geolocation technology it will be designed to reduce food miles from the farm gate and provide a user friendly ecommerce solution for consumers. Unlike other retailers we promote the provenance of the product and producer and therefore build a community online of returning customers. Customers will be able to shop by product, by farmer and by location, just as you would do at a local farmers market, uniquely we will further encourage consumers to buy local food via a reward system that rewards a consumer for purchasing locally, and in volume, thereby reducing food miles and delivery costs. The Secret Farmer will provide a single ecommerce solution for multiple suppliers so that the customer can benefit from lower costs, better customer service and modern retail back end support.
